Downtown & West End homes for sale
Downtown sits on the south bank, right where the North and South Thompson meet. The West End, uphill from the core, is the oldest residential area in the city and has the most heritage-designated buildings, including St. Andrew's on the Square, built in 1887 (source). Riverside Park, with its water park, the Uji Friendship Garden and the start of the 40-km Rivers Trail, is the front yard.
A lot is changing here. The downtown Transit-Oriented Area allows higher density under Bill 47. The first BC Builds project on the former Columbia Precinct lands was approved in June 2026, and a 98-unit, six-storey rental has been proposed at 640 Lorne St, next to where the Red Bridge stood (CFJC). The Kamloops Centre for the Arts received a $7 million grant in July 2026. The City's "Reimagine Downtown!" engagement began in April 2026.
